Rachel’s mapping specialism is in bespoke decorative maps with illustrative handrawn elements and careful graphic design.

I have worked in mapping for 10 years, delivering maps for non-fiction books, public spaces, visitor maps for the institutions as well as personal gift maps for individuals. I have vast experience mapping rural locations; parks, coastlines, urban centres, vineyards, woodlands, festivals, venues and farms across Britain alongside working on environmental and architectural design projects.

Most recently I completed a large scale map for historians and the Roxburghe Book Club that mapped the journals of poet Thomas Gray (1767-1770). This map is one of my favourite projects. It was very well received and is a testament to research, teamwork, mapping sensitivity, a great client and a great topic!

As well as completing mapping commissions independently I also regularly freelance for Rural Maps Ltd who specialise in mapping country estates and farms. So should you need a specific farm map - I would be happy to help as part of the Rural Maps team.

My map examples can be made available physically and on request. Feel free to enquire by email or phone to discuss your project.
